Sample knit with silk lace weight yarn on US 7 needles

Multiple of 8 + 6

Note: Stitch count is not consistent; Rows 2 and 8 are decreased and Rows 6 and 12 are increased

Row 1 (WS) and all ws rows: purl
Row 2: k2 *k2tog, k1, yo, k1, ssk, k2; rep from *, end k4
Row 4: k1, k2tog, k1, yo *k1, yo, k1, ssk, k2tog, k1, yo; rep from *, end k2
Row 6: k3, yo *k3, yo, k1, ssk, k1, yo; rep from *, end k3
Row 8: k5 *k2tog, k1, yo, k1, ssk, k2; rep from *, end k2
Row 10: k4 *k2tog, k1, (yo, k1) twice, ssk; rep from *, end k3
Row 12: k3, k2tog *k1, yo, k3, yo, k1, k2tog; rep from *, end k2

  3. Thank you for sharing this beautiful pattern. I'm a complete beginner at making lace: can you tell me what to do on row 14? Is it the same as row 2?

  4. Hi Freya! Lace is like any other stitch - after completing the last row of the pattern, go back and begin with Row 1 unless otherwise instructed. (Like if the first row is just a set up row and the repeat is from row 2, for example).
